The 2010 Williams Family Reunion in Las Vegas has come to a close. Many thanks and much love to the family of Vivian Williams Gaston for making this another successful reunion. It was absolutely wonderful to see each family represented and to see so many of our family in participate. We are an ever-growing family and it remains essential that we continue to have our biannual reunions and that everyone make an attempt to attend.
Thanks to every one who purchased a family packet from Lue. The money that was raised will be seed money for the 2012 Williams Family Reunion in the San Francisco Bay Area. Lue still has packets left for sale for $20, shipping included.
SHARING OUR PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
In this age of computers, the Internet and social networks like Facebook, Google, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube, it is possibile to share all of the wonderful photos and videos that were taken during our reunion in Las Vegas. It has been suggested that central and private online photo sharing sites be set up to accomplish this. The sharing of our photos accomplishes several things for our family. First, it automatically digitizes our photos, thereby preserving them for decades. Secondly, all family members now and in the future will have access to our family photos and videos. Third, sharing our photos allows the host family to create a photo presentation that includes more of our families and family members. Finally, many of these sites allow us to create and purchase personalized photobooks as keepsakes. If you can think of more reasons, please allow them to motivate you to share the photos you took. If you choose to share your photos please try to tag as many of them as possible with the names of each person. There are already online sites established for us to safely and privately share our photos at Flickr and Picasa. Don't forget to bookmark these sites in your browser.
SPEAKING OF 2012
Our next family reunion will be in the San Francisco Bay Area, hosted by the family of Willie B. Kennedy. I don't have to tell you that the accommodations in the San Francisco/Bay Area are going to be more expensive than in Las Vegas. And July, 2012 will be here before your know it. So, start planning now, family, by setting up an untouchable family reunion savings account and setting aside a few dollars each pay period. That's what me and mine are going to do. In 2 years, we'll have a nice little fund for travel, food, accommodations and entertainment. If you have more planning tips for making our next family reunion a successful, must attend event, please share them...this IS a family affair.
